Rösslerhof linseed oil

2 reviews

Gently cold-pressed organic flaxseed oil from fresh flaxseeds. This flaxseed oil is rich in essential fatty acids. Its subtly bitter aroma (Lirina variety) is traditionally excellent with boiled potatoes and quark, but also with salads and all heartier dishes. The fatty acid profile and the high proportion of valuable omega-3 fatty acids make this flaxseed oil a fresh and healthy food with a fantastic taste.

These precious oils are sensitive, especially to oxygen. Therefore, you should store these oils in a cool, dark place and use them within one month.

Linseed oil – an omega-3 powerhouse from local cultivation

Linseed oil, also known as flaxseed oil, is produced by cold-pressing flaxseeds. This process preserves the delicate omega-3 fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid), which are important for a healthy diet. The oil has a golden-yellow color and a characteristically spicy flavor.

In the kitchen, flaxseed oil goes well with potatoes and quark, in salad dressings, muesli, or smoothies. Due to its heat sensitivity, it should not be used for frying. Flaxseed oil is also a good addition to vegan and vegetarian dishes to meet fat requirements.

Flaxseed oil contains many omega-3 fatty acids, but it is not a medicine. It supports a balanced diet and should be stored in a cool, dark place. Once opened, it should be used within a few weeks, as it oxidizes quickly.

Tip: Mix linseed oil with yogurt or quark and fresh fruit – a traditional dish from East Germany called "Quark with linseed oil".

Linseed oil: golden-yellow oil with a spicy flavor

The cold-pressed linseed oil from Rösslerhof is a true treasure from nature. Extracted from high-quality, regionally grown flaxseed, it contains a particularly high amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids – above all the valuable omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). In its freshly pressed form, it has a mild, nutty flavor and impresses with its golden-yellow color and fine consistency.

We press our linseed oil gently and exclusively in small batches – directly on the Rösslerhof farm. This guarantees maximum freshness and preserves the delicate fatty acids in the best possible way.

Mild, nutty, natural

Our linseed oil tastes significantly milder than many industrial oils – no harshness, no bitterness. It has a pleasantly nutty aroma with delicate green and buttery notes. Thanks to the particularly gentle pressing process without heat, the oil remains naturally cloudy and full of valuable plant nutrients.

We bottle the oil immediately after pressing, protecting it from light – unfiltered, unrefined, and pure. A genuine natural product.

Enjoy in a diverse and conscious way

Linseed oil is excellent for cold dishes: in quark, yogurt, muesli, or over boiled potatoes with fresh herbs – a classic. It also unfolds its full aroma in smoothies, on vegetable soups, in salads, or as a topping over steamed vegetables.

Important: Linseed oil is sensitive to heat and light – therefore, it should not be heated, but only used cold. This preserves its fatty acids and allows its nutty flavor to fully develop.

Freshness is everything

Because linseed oil should taste especially fresh, we press it regularly. Each bottle has a best-before date, which serves more as an indicator of freshness. We recommend storing the oil in the refrigerator and consuming it within a few weeks of opening.

Origin & quality from Rösslerhof

Rösslerhof stands for responsible regional agriculture. The flaxseeds come from controlled cultivation and are processed directly on site – without intermediaries, without industrial processes. This makes our flaxseed oil not only exceptionally fresh, but also particularly trustworthy.

Please always store tightly closed, in a cool and dark place.
